These services address those individuals living in a group home who are experiencing dual diagnosis of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities in combination with one or more emotional and/or behavioral mental health diagnosis. These services can include Skills Training in

-Interpersonal skills

• Social skills
• Communication skills
• Skills for promoting healthy relationship
• Behavior management
• Anger management
• Problem solving
• Stress management

When appropriate, higher functioning individuals with persistent mental health issues along with IDD that interfere with their ability to sustain independent living, skills training can include: Independent living skills (e.g., money management, accessing and using transportation, grocery shopping, maintaining housing, maintaining a job, and decision making) Instruction in dress, grooming, socially and culturally appropriate behaviors, and etiquette necessary to obtain and retain employment.

• Meet with the staff and learn of their concerns, needs and identifying clients they have identified for services.
• Assessments
  Begin assessments on those identified clients appropriate for services. For every 3 clients to be assessed 1 counselor will be assigned. When a 4 client is referred, another counselor will be assigned to do the assessment and assess the next 2 clients referred totaling 3. This procedure will ensure clients who are assessed will be positioned for services with counselors who will have no more than 3 clients per case load.
• Authorization and treatment planning
  Services will begin for clients who have been assessed once assessments are submitted and insurance authorization is received, which is 3-5 days. In the interim counselors will develop the Individual Service or Treatment Plan. The treatment plan will outline the course of treatment for each client.
• Service provision
  Once the Authorizations are received and treatment plans complete services can begin. Services can include individual and group counseling, skills training (anger, stress, behavior management, interpersonal, social, communications skills development) and skills training for employment readiness and independent living skills for those functioning at a higher level. When it’s appropriate, necessary or requested family members of clients who are or want to be involved in client’s treatment will be included in the provision of services. Adjunct Service provision for ALTST counselors joining with Rescare staff as part of the interdisciplinary team and includes consultation with staff, participating in staffings, interfacing with other professional providing services, such as psychiatrist, OT’s PT’s etc. as needed.
• Documentation
  Rescare staff will have access to ALTST documentation and ALTST counselors to ensure all staff works together for the best outcome for the client.
• Hours of services
  ALTST counselors will be on Rescare premises 5 days a week when there are 2 or more counselors, times to be established between Rescare and ALTST counselors
